馃А Starting in Style
To
kick off our trip to Saint-Tropez, we both
dressed up in
matching vibrant orange outfits. Then, after checking out of
H么tel Les Palmiers - Sainte-Maxime around 9 a.m., we
stopped by a nearby charming
boulangerie for
petit-d茅jeuner,
with a view over the sea. I even
practiced my
French while ordering: pain au chocolat, coffee, and orange juice. Everything was delicious. The day was starting to heat up, so we continued our journey without lingering too long.

We spent three days in the environs of Saint-Tropez. On the first day, we explored the glamorous and vibrant downtown area. The second day was devoted to a long scenic hike from Plage de l’Escalet to Plage de Gigaro on the Sentier Littoral. And on the third day, we visited Port Grimaud, enjoyed d茅gustations de vins (wine tasting) at Domaine Tropez, and wandered through the jasmine-scented ancient village of Gassin.
馃殫 The Scenic Drive
We knew traffic would be heavier on the coastal route compared to the quieter inland alternative, but we decided to take the scenic way - after all, how often do we get to drive along the C么te d’Azur? According to Google Maps, the trip was supposed to take about 1.5 hours. It ended up taking three. Still, we didn’t mind too much - we soaked in the stunning views of the coastline while listening to a thought-provoking podcast episode about the danger of insulin.
馃寠 Arriving in Saint-Tropez
The Gulf of Saint-Tropez was breathtaking. As we drove past Sainte-Maxime, the scenery gradually changed - from sparkling blue coastline to lush orchards, then to rolling vineyards. That’s when we knew we were getting close. Unfortunately, traffic worsened as we entered downtown. We circled for almost two hours trying to find parking and were nearly ready to give up - until we finally secured a spot right where we had started near the port, but now the market was closed there was finally some space.

馃憸 Louis Vuitton Experience
We wandered down Rue Fran莽ois Sibilli, home to many luxury boutiques, and stopped at the Louis Vuitton -Saint-Tropez store. A friendly shop assistant welcomed us warmly and helped me turn my Louis Vuitton bag inside out, something I was hesitant to do myself. He even demonstrated how to do it for next time. Then, he offered us a quick tour of the boutique, where we were served champagne in their beautiful garden - such a memorable experience.

馃 A Luxurious Snack
Next, we headed to the restaurant Arnaud Donckele & Maxime Fr茅d茅ric at Louis Vuitton for an afternoon snack. The place was elegant and stylish, though we felt slightly overwhelmed when we realized an Aperol Spritz cost €32! Still, we reminded ourselves that this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience - and totally worth it.

馃摳 Port Saint-Tropez Photoshoot and 馃彣 Returning to La Croix-ValmerLater that afternoon, we took photos together at Port Saint-Tropez, showing off our coordinated orange outfits. Then we headed to our (equally orange!) hotel, H么tel l'Orangeraie , the same charming Victorian-style hotel we stayed at last summer. It’s located in La Croix-Valmer, not far from Saint-Tropez. The receptionist recognized us and greeted us even more warmly when we mentioned we had stayed there the previous year.

馃崫 A Carby, Happy Ending
To end our first day, we dined at a cozy Italian restaurant near the hotel. My partner had a salade de ch猫vre and I went for spaghetti carbonara. Ironically, after listening to a podcast about reducing carb intake, there I was - enjoying a big bowl of pasta. But I had an excuse: we had a long hike planned the next day. So I indulged without guilt.
