๐Ÿ– Naked Light and Dune Shadows: Our First Sunset in CAP d’AGDE ๐ŸŒ…

 DAY 1

Cap d’Agde vibes: just me, the sea, and a little bit of cheekiness ๐Ÿ˜˜

๐Ÿ˜“ Waking up hot and bothered

The next day, we woke up in a sweat and not in the best mood. My partner hadn’t slept well due to the heat - and was still bothered by the unpleasant exchange with the hotel receptionist the day before.

We took a shower, and just like I mentioned in the previous blog post, no sooner had we dried off than we were already drenched in sweat again.

๐Ÿงฆ The mysterious socks incident

As we checked out of our hotel, La Taverne de l'Escuelle, there was a lady at the bar -  presumably also working as the receptionist. We brought up the two pairs of socks that had been left hanging on the curtain pole (not ours, by the way), but she just looked confused. No apology, no explanation. We left the hotel feeling disappointed.

To save time, we decided to skip breakfast and head straight to Cap d’Agde.

๐Ÿž️ GPS drama with a scenic twist

On the way, we made a stop at the Gorges de l’Hรฉrault, not only to admire its natural beauty, but also because our car’s GPS once again failed to connect with my partner’s phone! It wasn’t the first time - this had already happened several times during our road trip, usually requiring us to stop and restart the car.

Gorges de l’Hรฉrault

At least it gave us a chance to enjoy the view from the top of the cliff. We considered taking a quick swim, but decidedto keep moving to stay on schedule.

๐Ÿœ A warm welcome in Agde

From lavender fields to Cap d’Agde sunsets, every port feels like home with you⛵❤️

By lunchtime, we arrived in Agde, a city in the Occitanie region and just 20 minutes from the naturist village of Cap d’Agde. We found Hanoi Restaurant - an Asian spot we couldn’t resist.

The owner greeted us with a big warm smile and chatted with us about where we were from and whether it was our first time in Agde. We ordered chicken and pork spring rollsrice with tofu, and, as a lovely surprise, he brought us a complimentary serving of super spicy Sambal Oelek! I think maybe he noticed I’m Asian as he offered me Chopsticks! Quite amusing since he did not offer any to my partner and normally it is him that uses them!

The lunch was superb, and we left feeling happyfull, and ready for our naturist adventure.

ร€ deux, le voyage est toujours plus beau. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿก Welcome to Naturist Life

From there, we made the short drive to Cap d’Agde Naturist Village. Our host, Laurence, welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm - pointing out where to park, walking us through the studio apartment, and reassuring us that she was just a phone call away if needed. Her kindness set the tone for our arrival.

Our 22m² studio was compact, but comfortable: a large bed, great lighting, a decent little kitchen, and a surprisingly spacious bathroom. With the heat still clinging to the walls, we gave in and rested under the sweet hum of the air conditioner before heading to the beach.

After all, this was the whole point - being naked on a naked beach!

When the sun paints your curves, even shadows smile…๐ŸŒž

But first - laundry. We had quite a pile from our road trip. However, we quickly realized our studio didn’t come with washing detergent, so off we went to the nearby Spar to grab some.

Aperol kisses before the camera clicks ๐Ÿ“ธ

๐ŸŒฅ️ Clouds, Dunes, and a Steamy Detour

Laundry loaded, beach bags packed... and then - ugh - the clouds rolled in. A quick look at the weather forecast confirmed our fears: high chances of rain during our stay. We were a bit crushed. Not only would it ruin beach time, but also our sunset bikini photoshoot plans!

Still, we decided to make the most of the moment and headed out for a shoot anyway - even if the sunset was muted. As we stepped outside, we were greeted by a neighbor who was equal parts friendly and unsettling. He asked what languages we spoke, and while his demeanor seemed warm, we found it a little eerie - especially after hearing him talk nonstop to a stranger for over an hour earlier. We couldn’t help but wonder why someone living so close to the beach never actually went.

We chose sand dune as our photo locationchasing the last drops of golden light. Between poses and giggles, the mood shifted - something about the breeze, the hush of the evening, and the way the light danced on my partner’s skin. One moment we were adjusting the tripod, the next...lost in the dreamy romance of the moment.

It was a spontaneousplayful, and electric moment- one of those fleetingunforgettable evenings that still makes us smile when we look back at those photos.

๐Ÿ• Spar Nights and Naked Delights

Time flew by. Suddenly it was almost 8 p.m., and we hadn’t had dinner. We popped back into Spar, still completely naked (one of the joys of Cap d’Agde. Definitely not the last naked errand!), and grabbed some Flammenkueche for an easy meal.

Grocery shopping, but make it au naturel ๐Ÿฅ–๐Ÿท

Back at our studio, we quickly unloaded the laundry, hung it up to dry, and started another wash. After a cooling shower, we settled in for dinner - grateful for the day, even though it hadn’t gone entirely to plan. The weather may have kept us off the beach, but we’d kicked off our time in Cap d’Agde with laughter, connection, and one very special sunset.

Un dรฎner simple, mais avec toute la libertรฉ du Cap d’Agde ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ’•

We slept soundly that night - ready for more naturist adventures tomorrow.

DAY 2

๐Ÿš— Goodbye, wheels… hello, train tracks

We woke up earlier than usual - with a bit of sadness - because it was time to return our beloved rental car in Montpellier by 10:00. We left Cap d’Agde at around 08:30, the drive taking about 50 minutes. Before dropping it off, we filled the tank to the brim, as required.

Little did we know, Montpellier’s city traffic would test our patienceRoads were blockeddetours were everywhere, and we ended up looping around like characters in a comedy sketch. Even the GPS gave up on us, Google did not like Montpellier either! We felt the frustration building, but we kept our cool with each other. Eventually, we found the car rental office, just across from Montpellier’s Saint-Roch train station.

Parking was another mini-challenge - the space was so tight it could make a Smart car nervous. Thankfully, the staff were friendly and helpful, and once the car was checked in, we were free to go.

๐Ÿ›️ Sandals, spritz, and city chaos

Montpellier is a beautiful cultural city… but its street planning? Let’s just say it’s creatively chaotic. We decided to treat ourselves to an Aperol Spritz at Cafรฉ du thรฉรขtre and wander through the charming downtown streets before heading back to Cap d’Agde by train.

Goodbye car, hello cocktails ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿš— - Aprรจs la route, place ร  la romance.. ร  Montpellier

I found a lovely pair of sandals along the way. We thought about having lunch in the city, but no restaurants opened before 11:30 - so we decided to eat later in our own village.

๐Ÿ– Bare skin, big smiles, and a hint of rain

Our train left at 12:15, getting us back to Agde by around 13:10 - perfect for lunch! I was still craving the food from Hanoi Restaurant, so we returned there. The owner greeted us with the same warmth as the day before, clearly delighted that we had come back so soon.

Chopsticks, laughter & love ๐Ÿฅข❤️ - Un festin asiatique, mais toujours รฉpicรฉ par nous deux ๐Ÿ˜˜

After lunch, we bought a rotisserie chicken from one of the village shops, took a short nap, and then - finally - hit the nude beach! Knowing rain was forecast later, we kept our nap short.

As in every July - August, the beach was busy, but we went straight to “our spot” - almost at the far end of the naturist section, near the border with Marsaille beach. We spread out our blanketlet the sun kiss our skin, and soaked up the relaxing atmosphere

Serving sunshine, sass, and a splash of sea breeze ✨๐ŸŒŠ

The wind carried a hint of the coming rain, which while obvious to us, seemed a total surprise to those around. My partner went for a swim while I guarded our things. Sure enough, halfway back to our apartment, the sky opened and the rain poured down, we were ready, while others panicked.

๐Ÿฅ‚ Naked dining: wine, rain, and romance

Once we got home, we showered and tucked into a simple but delicious dinner of rotisserie chicken and soup - lovingly prepared by my partner. As the rain eased, we had a playful idea: why not enjoy dinner on our terrace, naked, with a glass of Sublime Rouge wine we had bought at Domaine Tropez.

Sharing wine, food, and freedom with my love ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ‡

The air was fresh from the rain, the wine was rich, and the moment felt quietly perfect - just us, our little terrace, and the welcoming village around us.

Moi, mon verre de rouge, et un petit secret au coucher du soleil… ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ‡

๐ŸŒ„ Golden hour, glowing skin

We were lucky - after dinner, the sun returned. My partner convinced me to try a sunset bikini photoshoot. I hesitated at first, but he was right - it was a brilliant idea.

We began on the sand dunes, a bit closer to our apartment than the previous day. But after a few shots, a security guard came over and told us photography on the dunes wasn’t allowed, threatening us with a fine. My partner argued that no sign or regulation was posted, but we didn’t want trouble, so we moved down to the beach.

The sunset was spectacular - a warmgolden-orange glow melting into the horizon. The lighting was perfect, and the photos turned out stunning. As if to add the cherry on top, three friendly visitors strolled past with their dogs, stopping to chat for a moment.

We returned to our apartment satisfied, happy, and ready for another fantastic day in the naturist village.

๐Ÿงญ Travel Tips - Cap d’Agde Naturist Village Edition Day 1 & 2:

  1. Pack Light, Literally - You won’t need many clothes, but don’t forget:
    • Sunscreen (high SPF!)
    • Beach towel or sarong
    • Flip-flops or waterproof sandals
    • A small bag for essentials
    • Waterproof bag for the phone
  2. Book Accommodation Early - Especially in peak season. A/C is essential if you're sensitive to heat.
  3. Respect & PrivacyIn France, people value privacy and respect. Especially in Cap d’Agde, it’s important to remember that you should never take photos of others without their permission. A simple smile and a polite ask go a long way.
  4. Be Prepared for Naturist Etiquette - Everyone’s naked, but everyone’s respectful. Bring a towel to sit on, and don’t stare.
  5. Spar is Your Friend - You’ll probably go there a lot. It’s normal to shop naked - just be polite and respectful.
  6. Sunset Photoshoots? Do it Early - The weather changes quickly, and the best light goes fast. Have your camera or phone ready.
  7. Don’t Miss the Nearby Town of Agde - Great for lunch or a change of pace if you need a break from the naturist village.
  8. Rental Car Return: If you’re returning a car in Montpellier, allow extra time - the road system can be confusing, especially with detours.
  9. Montpellier Sightseeing: Plan your meal times - many restaurants don’t open until 11:30 or later.
  10. Beach Crowds: In July - August, claim your spot early in the day for the best views and more privacy.
  11. Rain Plans: Keep flexible - short showers can clear into perfect sunsets.
  12. Photography: Avoid shooting on the dunes to steer clear of fines - the beach offers equally beautiful shots.
  13. Wine & Dinner: A simple meal, good wine, and fresh air on your terrace can be just as romantic as a night out.
